What is the ColorPlus™ option and when should it be specified? |

ColorPlus™ is an enhancement we developed to improve the red performance of our AP/LCD™ technology. |
In displays equipped with ColorPlus™, the color performance achieves European Broadcast Union standards for High Definition television and results in extremely well saturated red, green and blue primary colors. This option is available on selected products.
From a technical standpoint, LCD technology has been traditionally engineered for performance in laptop and desktop monitor applications where the spectral characteristics of fluorescent backlighting have taken precedence.
With the advent of LCD technology in projection monitors and televisions, advances in LCD polymer formulation have followed, improving color characteristics with high performance lamps. ColorPlus™ is a specially designed polarization filter that Clarity designed to further optimize the spectrum of the illumination light before it enters the LCD. Coupled with recent improvements in LCD technology, the result is performance that rivals and, in some cases, exceeds DLP.
ColorPlus™ is currently available as an option on our 67" Lion XP and 50" Puma X and XP products. These displays can be ordered with the option configured at the factory, or ColorPlus™ can be added as a simple field upgrade. The key thing to remember is that ColorPlus™ is available only for Puma and Lion displays in the XGA resolution.
